Low-Level Oil Sensor

Low-Level Oil Sensor

Our Low‑Level Oil Sensor gives engine OEMs and operators a practical way to prevent oil‑starvation damage without adding cost or complexity. The patented device (US 7,486,179) continuously monitors operating oil level and provides a positive shutoff when the level falls below a safe threshold, avoiding the nuisance of intermittent stopping and starting.

With an overall cost under one dollar per unit, the sensor's electrical circuit does not require installation inside the sump, simplifying packaging and contamination control. It functions reliably with engines tilted up to 20°, and maintains performance even after a 3 ft drop, making it well-suited to industrial and mobile equipment.

No special reset procedures are needed, which reduces operator error and service training time. Developed with internal CKE funds, this sensor offers a straightforward path to protect high-value engines from catastrophic low-oil events while keeping manufacturing and maintenance overhead low.
